Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Splines freeze editor if you delete all but the first point and then try to move it. 4.8.1

If you create a new blueprint class, add a spline component and add it to your scene it will spawn with 2 points. If you delete the last point, leaving only the first point and then try to move that point, it will crash and hang immediately. Memory goes through the roof and I have to force close to exit.

Even in 4.15.1 and 4.18 , any spline i use just makes ue4 freeze and/or have huge RAM spikes, or crash. In short, i'm not able to use anything spline related.

Hi JonWest,

I was able to reproduce this and have entered a bug report, UE-18246 to be assessed by the development staff.

This seems to still be present in UE 4.13.0.

Is there an update on fixing this problem?

Hi Stratego99,

The bug report Adam mentioned was fixed back in 4.9. I attempted to reproduce the crash in 4.13 using the steps that JonWest provided above but I couldn't get it to happen.

If you are still getting this crash in 4.13.2 or 4.14, please provide additional info on how you are reproducing it and I'll be more than happy to continue investigating.

Cheers,

TJ
