not sure when it happened but a bunch (20+) actors that are all children of one class for some reason they reset all their variables to parent classes default values.
i had a bunch of stuff setup and i dont feel like setting it up again if its gonna happen again.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I have looked through and found a report referenced as: UE-17464. This report states that ‘Child character variables reset to default value once packaged’. I was wondering if that’s similar to what you’re seeing in your project?
If not, could you please provide me exact reproduction steps so I can verify this bug and submit it to our developers for correction?
I have not heard from you since your initial post and for that reason, I must mark this question as resolved. However, if you have any further questions regarding this topic please do not hesitate in replying back.
I’m having this same issue but am struggling to replicate it, as when I put desired values into my child objects, then reset engine, computer, and perforce this morning - values kept as they should.
My task today is to try and reproduce this issue so I can be more help.
This issue was reported as UE-17464 and has been closed as not being able to be reproduced. If you can provide exact reproduction steps, I will be more than happy to look into this further and figure out whether or not there is a bug at hand.
Which version of engine were you on when you experienced this? Can you provide me reproduction steps or a sample project where I can duplicate this issue to reopen UE-17464?
I also just experienced this in 4.9.2, and it’s not related to UE-17464 because it just happened in editor, without packaging. It’s first time I got this in 4.9.2 so it’s really not reproducable, I have replaced all affected BPs (I think it were ~15 for me) with backups to restore default values.
Thanks for letting us know it’s unrelated to UE-17464. If you see it happen again, please let us know; without reproduction steps, we can’t get very far with this one. Thank you!
