Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Office Holiday

VR Preview not working when Blueprint is open

UE 4.8.1 Oculus SDK 0.6.0.1

Create a simple Blueprint ThirdPerson Project

Play in VR Preview - OK.

Open ThirdPersonCharacter Blueprint - Play in VR from there - does not switch Rift on .NOT OK.

Switch to Map view - keep Blueprint open - Play in VR from there - does not work again!. NOT OK.

now CLOSE the character blueprint, Play in VR - works! OK.

So, something's broken...

Hello btengelh,

After reading over your post I was able to find that this is a known issue (UE-17053) and that it has been sent to the developers for further consideration. I will be sure to bump the community interest for this issue. Thank you for your time and information.

This was recently fixed in main, and will be rolled out in 4.9. Thanks for the report!

I just had this issue too. Seems like everyone is going to be frustrated by this one. I have to close all my open tabs with blueprints every time I want to vr preview? That works, but that's going to be a pain. Tell me if I'm wrong.

Hello sgehrman,

As Nick said, this issue has been fix in main (4.9) branch. If you have a source build of the engine you could try cherry picking this fix and integrating it into your project. I have provided a link to the commit below. I hope that this information helps.
