Drag assets directly from Content Browser to Scene will not correctly snap to 2D Layer

Most times it will not correctly snap to 2D Layer.

You can see in pic above I have already turned on the 2D Layer and 2D Transformation

Hey,

Are you currently running 4.8.1-2591939? I have also turned on 2D Layer and 2D Transformations and have been able to snap the assets to the correct layer. Is this happening only in this project, or is it happening in all 2D projects? Could you try and test this out in Paper2D Side Scroller?

Looking forward to hearing back from you, thanks!

It happens on every project.
Directly drag sprites will be fine.
Drag a PaperCharacter blueprint will cause the problems at a high .

I realize it is only not working for Character Class and its Derived class.
You drag a Character Blueprint will also cause the problems.
Maybe it will not work for some other situations but I only found this.

Yes, I’m running 4.8.1-2591939.

I’ve put about 100 different sprites and paper2D characters within my level. The only time that one slipped behind the background is when I set the top function to ‘background’. Have you tried changing the ‘Default’ to ‘Foreground’?

Foreground’?
Charcter does not snap to correctly Foreground y 100.

Hey,

Default snaps at y=0 while foreground snaps at y=100. Are you saying that yours sets it at y=-100 instead of 100? Would you please zip your project and upload it on an external site, such as and provide the link for me to download it?

Appreciate it!

Sorry, I mean y = 100.

Hey,

If your y is setting at 100, then it is being placed in the editor correctly. Where are you setting the background to? Could you please give me the x,y,z for the background?

Thank you!

Hey,

It’s been quite a while since I last heard from you and for that reason, I will be marking this thread as resolved. However, if you continue to have any trouble with this specific issue, or any further questions, do not hesitate to reply back and it’ll open the question back up.

Have a great weekend!
