Exclude moveable objects from skylight in interior areas

Is there currently any good way to keep moveable objects from picking up skylight when they are inside a building? I am working on an environment that has both outdoor and indoor components. skylight looks quite good outside but inside any object that is moveable picks up sky lighting and looks out of place. I read that “•Shadowing from environment on movable objects and translucency” is one of current limitations of skylight. I was just wondering if there was another way like to exclude objects from being affected by light at all.

Hey ,

Your best bet is probably going to be setting up some level streaming volumes. Put Sky Light in an Outdoor level and your indoor lighting in an Indoor level. You can find some very good information on level streaming in Content Examples level, “Level_Streaming”.

Alternatively, you can simply set up some Trigger Volumes around your entrances and exits, and enable or disable Sky Light when those volumes are triggered.

Hope that helps!
