[Bug] Game Mode in C++ First Person Shooter broken

We made the default first person shooter project based on C++.

When you set the default Pawn to FirstPersonCharacter in the generated Game Mode blueprint then save and exit the editor then run the editor, the default pawn has reverted to DefaultPawn.

Can you be more specific on how you are setting the default Pawn to the FirstPersonCharacter? You wrote that you “set the default Pawn to FirstPersonCharacter in the generated Game Mode blueprint.” However the First Person C++ project does not generate a Game Mode blueprint -Only game mode C++ files.

I created the Game Mode Blueprint in the image below which allowed me to change the default Pawn class:

If you are changing a C++ Game Mode file in Visual Studio and are having problems, please describe the file or files you are modifying.
