Any way to preserve scale when using "combine meshes"?

Short text version is that I built a blueprint out of a ba-zillion static meshes, but calling the blueprint crushed my framerate. So i thought i could combine the meshes into one to save on resources, only the scale doesn't survive the combining process.
Is there any way around this?
