Clip volumes for Stationary lights?

Since static lights no longer produce shadows for things like characters, we pretty much need to use stationary lights in indoor spaces. This leads to a painful system of “whack-a-mole” like placement/settings tweaking to get them to not overlap past 4 lights.

If the only way to get shadows cast from dynamic objects is to use Stationary/Dynamic lights that have the overlap restriction, then UE4 really needs to provide tools to reduce the overlap in logical ways. The biggest area we struggle with are things like office/apartment buildings style structures and things with lots of floors on top of each other. Spaces like that offer easy and logical ways to clip a light’s influence, but there is no way to do so.

I came across this old thread about it, but it seems to have been abandoned.
