Defining namespace for assets

Is there any way to define localization namespace from Blueprint, or DataTables, or for assets in general? I am asking this, because in generated archies texts from single assets are scattered all over the file making it much harder to translate.

Bonus mini question:
I should translate .archive or .po file? If archive, why there are no information about key location? (like /Game/Medium/Blueprints/Gameplay/Dialogues/TestScenarioDialogues.TestScenarioDialogues.Text)

Hi Dex3r,

Unfortunately, it’s not currently possible to modify the namespace for asset content. We’ll be adding this feature in the future, though I don’t have a timeline for you. We’ll be adding other features in the near future which will allow for contextual tagging of strings which will allow better sorting/grouping of text for translation. Until then you could create separate localization targets for specific sets of strings.

Bonus: The archive format isn’t designed for translation, which is why there is no context information in the file. It’s designed to reduce data duplication. You want to translate the .po files. While you can translate them by hand there are also a bunch of free tools and services which are compatible with the format you could look into using. I highly recommend getting a tool to help with your translation process, there’s a lot of useful features.

Internally we currently use OneSky as our translation platform. It’s a free service if you are doing your own translation, but provides translation memories, glossary support, syntax validation, etc… all very useful features.

Thank you for your answer, that cleared out everything.
