Vertex painting help?

Hey all! I have a quick question that would be very helpful to know the answer to. I am currently attempting to blend 2 materials together via Vertex Painting and I can’t seem to get the vertex painter to work. I believe I’ve narrowed the problem down, but I’m not sure if there’s a way to fix it. I am designing my level with BSP brushes and then converting them to static meshes, but when I do this UE4 creates as few vertices in the mesh as possible (at least I believe). So when I try to use the Vertex Painter, there are no vertices to paint on. I don’t know if that’s exact problem… but that would make sense. I’ve inspected the meshes in the editor and looked at it with the Wireframe viewing mode and there are no vertices on the faces of the shapes. I just really want to be able to paint materials on top of materials and I can’t seem to get it going. If anybody could provide some insight on this issue, I would appreciate it SO MUCH. Thanks everyone!

Mad respect,

-Jake
