[iOS]The global shader cache file is missing

Hi~
I generated new C++ project in UE4. and I launched to my iOS device.
But the following error is generated and my project is stoped.

The global shader cache file ‘…/…/…/Engine/GlobalShaderCache-GLSL_ES2_IOS.bin’ is missing.

My blue print project in UE4 and downloaded sample runs well in my iOS device.
But my C++ project in UE4 generate the error.

Please solve the above problem.

Hi Kee,

Can you give this a try? In Visual Studios build the project in Development. If that succeeds try launching the project again on iOS.

I want to play my UE4 app in real iOS device.
Visual Studio can not launch UE4 app to real iOS device.T_T

No problem in UE4 preview of Windows or OSX.
But the above problem is about real iOS device.

Are you able to launch on any other platform successfully, or do you get the same error as well?

Android => I don’t know. Because I have no android device.

OSX => no problem~

Widnows => no problem~

iOS preview => no problem~

iOS real device => the above problem !!!

ok so this is platform specific. Can you go into detail as to how you are launching onto the iOS Device?

More test result.

preview for OSX => no problem~

cooked app for OSX => ‘GlobalShaderCache-GLSL_150.bin’ is missing.

preview for iOS => no problem~

cooked app for iOS => ‘GlobalShaderCache-GLSL_ES2_IOS.bin’ is missing.

I make apps with MacBookPro( made in 2010 year. GPU is NVDIA GeForce320M. ), XCode 5.1, OSX 10.9.2.
My C++ project detail is not special. I modified basic C++ project in little to show simple log.

same problem
but i mac also got
GlobalShaderCache-GLSL_150_MAC.bin’ is missing

Hi guys, can you try these steps out?

  1. Create a code project
  2. Compile the ProjectEditor-Mac in Development
  3. Launch the Editor
  4. Launch on Device

  1. Create a code project.
    => TPS(Third Person Shooter) C++ project. ok~

  2. Compile the ProjectEditor-Mac in Development.
    => ok~ I build in ‘Development’ mode.

  3. Launch the Editor.
    => no problem in new window game and mobile preview~

  4. Launch on Device.
    => Launch is success. But I can not run my iOS app because of the above problem !!! T_T

I bought MacBookAir( Intel HD Graphics 5000, RAM 8 GB, SSD 250 GB ) last week. I installed ‘Unreal Engine 4.1.0’ to my new MacBookAir and I build UE4(Unreal Engine 4) C++ project in my new MacBookAir.

But, UE4 also generate same problem in my new MacBookAir. T_T

So, I defer to make my iOS app in 3~4 months. I am tired in little.

Hello, I’ve just been trying to build for OS X and iOS and have encountered the exact same problem using Unreal Engine 4.10.2, so the problem still exists.

Sam,

Please try to verify your version of the engine, or even update to 4.10.3. If you’re still having trouble, I would highly suggest submitting a new question thread to AnswerHub and provide your .

Thanks!
