Packaging project for windows taking forever

I have ue 4.8 and i am trying to package a project with just a floor and a chair on it with first person movements to test out packaging. when i package a project for windows 32 or 64 bits its showing packaging project windows 32 bit and takes forever. i dont have microsoft visual studio since i am using blueprints only. I actually installed unreal engine on G , due to some reasons i copied from G to C and deleted UE4 in G . Is this causing the problem?

Hey ,

Did your package ever fail? If it did not fail, how long did it take? Typically the first time you package a project, it takes a little bit of time as it has to cook and build all of the files. If you have any unnecessary files in your folder, such as the starter content, that could cause your project to take a bit longer to package. Please provide some additional information and any error you receive and I’ll look into it further for you.

Thanks!

Hey ,

It’s been quite a while since I last heard from you and for that reason, I must set this question as ‘resolved’. However, if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate in replying back as it’ll reopen the question and we will assist you further.

Thank you and have a nice day!

Is 40 minutes for packaging an empty project considered normal?

Probably not, depends on what platform you’re packaging for and what your computer specs are for.

How did you solve this?
