"Duplicated" submenu

UI (sometimes?) draws submenu 2 times (shown on screen).

MSI GE70, GeForce GTX 765M, Windows 8.1.

Hi ,

Does this occur in a clean, blank project iwth no additional content or is it limited to one project? Additionally, what steps did you take just before this occurred?

Hi,

Unfortunately it occurs in a clean, blank project. No additional steps required (happens every time).

Only thing that might help identify the problem (for now) is that I can list duplicated and not duplicated submenus (some of them):

Not duplicated (works fine):

  • Window → Details
  • Window → Viewports
  • Settings → Engine Scalability Settings
  • Settings → Material Quality Level
  • All submenus in “Blueprints”
  • Build → Lighting Quality

Duplicated (buggy):

  • Window → Content Browser
  • Window → Developer Tools
  • Settings → Preview Rendering Level
  • Build → Lighting Info

Hope this will help fix this issue. I can check other submenus if there is a chance that it will be helpful. For now there is nothing more I can say about it.

Hi ,

What are the exact steps you take before seeing this occur? Additionally, are you on a two monitor system or a single monitor? Are you just opening a project then right click to open a submenu and at that point it duplicates?

What are the exact steps you take
before seeing this occur?

  1. Run “Epic Games Luncher”.
  2. Open Project from “Libraries” / Lunch Unreal Engine (4.8.3) → New Project (doesn’t really matter).

Additionally, are you on a two monitor
system or a single monitor?

Tested in both situations.

Are you just opening a project then
right click to open a submenu and at
that point it duplicates?

Yes, when mouse is over submenus parent it duplicates.

Can you post a copy of your dxdiag? I want to see if this is a hardware specific issue as I have thus far been unable to reproduce the error on my end.

Thank you for your help.

Hi ,

Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to reproduce this on our end. We’ve attempted to reproduce this on multiple computer setups, multiple OS, and multiple builds of the engine, all with no success. Are there any other programs that produce this result on your computer? Have you changed any of the resolution settings on your monitor? Are there any other steps we can take to try to reproduce this on our end that you are aware of?

Thank you for your effort.

I did a small test. When reverted nvidia drivers to 350.12 the issue was resolved. After updating back to the latest version (353.62) the issue is back.

The issue is also present in Unreal 4.9 preview (though I guess that is not a surprise).

No additional settings on my end.

Hi ,

We attempted to reproduce this on 353.62 as well, however we did not recreate these results. I’m going to mark this as answered for now, however if you find any other components that may be helping to reproduce this error, please comment here and I’ll be happy to take another look.
