Xeon VS i7 Processors for Game Development

Hi Guys,

Does anyone here know if there’s any advantages to using a Intel Xeon processor over a regular Intel i7 processor (same generation)? I read up that Xeon processors take advantage of virtual cores and generally have better longevity at cost of GHz per dollar.

Is it beneficial to switch to Xeon or would you recommend staying with i7s? (This is a personal PC where I both play and develop games on!)
