Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

[Closed] Local versus shared network DDC

I've setup a shared network DDC and have setup the UE-SharedDataCachePath variable and pointed it to the share path. It is populated and continuously updated by all my users. However, I see some local DDC is generated under \Unreal\Game\Engine\Engine\DerivedDataCache.

How is the DDC at \Unreal\Engine\Engine used and how is it different from the shared DDC? What is the relationship if any?

It is a hierarchical cache, which you are free to configure any way you like. We use a local cache in addition to a shared cache to radically lower the pressure on the shared cached and improve performance.

Let me know if you need anything else on this.
