I can't start anything

When I tried to launch the installer it said I don’t have win 7 SP1 but I have SP2 so obviously I have SP1 so I troubleshot compatibility and the installation went well but now when I try to launch Epic Game Launcher or UE it crashes and the crash reporter says “You do not have any debugging symbols required to display the callstack for this crash.

Please help, I really want to get started

Hi zazafer,

I’m not sure why you are showing Windows Service Pack 2. According to Microsoft’s website, the only official Service Pack released for Windows 7 was Service Pack 1. I suggest checking into that to make sure that you have the correct updates.

If you like, feel free to post a copy of your Dxdiag (system specs).

  • Windows: Go to the Start menu and type ‘dxdiag’ into the search bar. Open the file and then click ‘Save All Information’. Post that text file here.

dxdiag right here link text

Yeah, you need to install Service Pack 1. The build number in the OS line of your dxdiag would read 7601 is you had it.

Yours reads:

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.110408-1633)

For example, this is mine:

Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.130828-1532)

Alright thanks, I just installed SP1 and now the launcher seems to work, I’ll see if I can launch UE4.
