How to make floating islands?

So I want to create a game with floating islands so yes its a kind of parkour and i plan to use the landscape tool to build these islands, sso I have 2 questions

1.The lanscape tool seems to only make landscapes that are only square planes, how wo-uld i make them be shaped differently ?

  1. how would I make the underside of the islands? the landscape tool is like bending a flat plane so I would I mmake something iceberg shaped so to say ? kinda flat on top and sharp under

yeah, this is kinda hard to do, the best option is a very long process.
you need to get a cylinder and make a low fat circle out of it (or any other oval shape and stuff)
repeat this several times and place them on the same layer, rotate them so you get a weird shaped flat disc.
then you should place cones under them, each one a different size so it will look more randomised.
it takes pretty long to make a island, and to make a parkour it will take a long time. but, that is pretty much the best result you could get. so just make a lot of them and you can make a awesome floating empire ;). I hoped this information helped you, succes with your game!

Hi Madhav12,

I wouldn’t suggest using landscapes to create multiple islands like you described. Multiple landscapes can be quite performance heavy and they aren’t available in different shapes.

The way I would approach this is to create the islands in a 3D modeling program. As a whole or even better, as modular pieces that you can build multiple islands with.

Cheers,

TJ

You can delete segments of a landscape - so if you go for a landscape with many small segments, you can trim the edge to your desired shape, and place rocks around the edge.
