Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Matinee Lagging

I have come across an issue using matinee.

When the matinee tab isn't open, I'm getting around 90fps give or take. As soon as I open matinee, it drops to as low as 12fps. Any idea why?

I changed the LOD to low, but it appears to have done nothing.

There was a performance issue with the Matinee viewports in 4.0. This has been fixed for 4.1. Performance can be improved a little in the meantime by limiting the size of the Matinee windows.

Ahh I see. Do you mean not have as many groups or tabs within the matinee sequence?

It is the size of the viewport that displays curves, groups etc. that matters, so simply resizing the window smaller should alleviate it.

FWIW, the issue was with the rendering of hit-proxy objects (so the mouse can interact with the viewport). This required a read-back of the rendered buffer from the GPU, which on some cards could be really slow.

I believe I have found a quick fix for the performance issues in matinee! Whilst in matinee and you're having performance issues, change the LOD to lowest, then change it back to what you had before and your performance increases dramatically.
