How to edit a spline within a child actor?

I have a spline with in an actor blueprint that I am able to edit within the world per instance.
I placed said (child) actor blueprint within another (parent) actor blueprint as a child actor. And the spline is no longer editable (with the parent blueprint) rendering it useless.

Does anyone know how to edit a spline within a child actor?

I am struggling with this issue also!
