Can I Achieve These Goals?

Hi guys!

I have a very board question that i wish to ask the community here.

I was a basic user of UE3 and created a few maps and scenes. I’ve only just downloaded UE4. I have a small bit of experience of creating a map that was used purely for walking around in UE3 and then packaged to an ios device so that the scene could be viewed on ios.

I have similar goals with UE4, and i wanted to ask the community whether these goals are possible, and if not, what do i have to do to achieve them.

1 - (My main priority) Number one goal is to be able to export a scene/map/level from the editor to an ios device, and walk around the scene using the ios device.

2 - To be able to use 3DS Max as my main 3D package to export models to UE4. I work in the correct scale in 3DS Max, therefore if an object is 500mm tall in the real world, i will model it 500mm tall in 3DS Max. How will these scale work with UE4? Which carries to my main question for number two goal, am i able to keep my current real world modelling in 3DS Max and play as a scaled person (approx 1.8m tall) to view my scene.

3 - To be able to use Windows. I do not have access to a mac.

4 - To be able to overlay graphical elements onto the user interface such as a small scale map to show where the user is in relation to a plan.

5 - To be able to create interactable objects that the user and touch and do something with. I’m not sure what, but could be something like changing the diffuse colour or opening up a small window with some text.

6 - If the user gets lost in the scene, they can hit a button or menu icon which will reset them to their start position.

I hope this is the correct place to ask these questions, and i hope all of this is achievable inside UE4.

Thanks to anyone in advance and thanks for reading

Yes,all of the above mentioned can be done within UE4

Thanks Madhav. That’s good to know
