Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Weird black spots on mesh

Hello,

I was wondering whether this is normal for some meshes to have in ue4. I made the mesh in blender and then exported as an fbx. The weird thing is that i don't find these spots/seams in the asset view but when i put them in the level, they become bigger or smaller depending on my distance from them.alt text

It looks like a seam issue from the UVW Unwrap. When you Did the UVW unwrap for the mesh were there seams next to these dark areas on the mesh? Overlapping UV's can also cause this and that would give you an error when you build lighting.

I'm not sure if it is seams or not but I went ahead and tweaked some settings around in the project and found out that it was coming from the ambient occlusion.
