Hi I have been having this issue from day one of using unreal engine, basically my pc locks up and i am forced to reset my pc, even the clock on my pc freezes. I have tried a few things such as reducing the load on my graphics card thinking that it was too gpu heavy but as you can see in the attached image everything was looking normal at the time of the crash. I have tried using an older version (4.02) and the same thing happens it happens randomly about 5-10 minutes in regardless of what im doing. Please help I am dying to use Unreal.
Also I dont have this problem with any other program like Vue or Blender.

Can you check your CPU stats, screen lock does not mean it’s GPU righta way as CPU is ordering GPU to update the screen so if CPU stop working it will freeze computer while GPU waiting for commands and displaying last frame, which some CPUs or MB termal protections react like that

Depending on the tasks you are trying to perform, your gpu and cpu will perform differently at different times while in the editor.
In order to visualize how hard your CPU and GPU are working while in your project, you can enter the commands ‘stat unitgraph’ or ‘stat scenerendering’ within the command console. This will allow you to visualize your projects performance, and is a good starting point to figure out where wasted resources are going or where you could be limited.
