For almost a week I havn’t been able to sign in with the launcher it gets stuck as shown in the image below. I have followed all steps on [this page][1] without any luck or success. I have attached the DXDiag and Launcher logs from 2 computers since I have the same problem on several machines…
Hi TYRENS-Jonas,
Thank you for the report. We are currently investigating a string of ‘Please Wait’ issues and we will post back here with updates as we have them.
Thanks for you answer!
Hi TYRENS-Jonas,
In the mean time, you may want to try right clicking on the Launcher and running as Admin, some users have reported this as a workaround for this issue… just while we investigate further.
Thanks
Andrew
Yes I’ll try it right away…
I have a Network Monitor Log for the traffic from and to the launcher but I can’t attach it here. If you are interested I can send it to you…
Nope no change… :-/
Can I send it in private to you?
Sure
If you can upload it dropbox/pastebin/etc whatever works for you we’ll take a look.
Andrew
afraid not please use a 3rd party host, thanks.
Andrew
Microsoft Network Monitor can open it
I manage to remove other data from the file…
Use Microsoft Network Monitor to open…
Thanks :), we’re going to take a look now and see if it can help us get to the route cause. We also have a hunch we’re working on atm too… if possible can you add an exception to the following address/port on your
firewall and see if that makes any difference?
xmpp-service-prod.ol.epicgames.com port 5222
Thanks
Andrew
I’ll see what I can do… But it will be tomorrow
Livin in CET
Opening up 5222 solved it… I posted a longer answer that is under review…
Sorry updated my longer answer and it’s under review again…
My firewall detected traffic on port 5222 (aka. Jabber VoIP-port) the sub-application/protocol detected were QUIC wich if not mistaken is a Google Protocol for quick UDP messaging. The traffic from QUIC was flagged as unsafe/unreliable so the firewall blocked it.
Work around for firewall admins: Open up port 5222 in your firewall and it will work.
This won’t help if your not in charge for your firewall like in a company or on university network. Then you need to consult your IT-department at least for now.
That’s great to here TYRENS, glad it worked for you, were working on a fix now that should ensure users don’t have to add this as an exception to get it working.
Andrew
Perfect I don’t know if you saw my answer regarding what traffic was blocked? Had some serious issues with my ISP this morning…
Jonas
