Unable to reach the Epic Servers at this time/ Connection to the server failed

Hey Guys

After my research for this problem here (found nothing specific, pls don’t hate)

When I start the Launcher the message appears ‘Unable to reach the Epic Servers at this time’ and when I try to log in ‘Connection to the server failed’. What informations do you need to solve this case?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Furor Divinus,

Try the suggestions in the troubleshooting guide here. Make sure to try all of these sections:

  • I Received a “Error! No version information” Message

  • The Launcher fails to load or crashes on load

  • The Launcher is unable to download content

If nothing works, follow the instruction here to generate your Debug Logs. Then post them here, along with your Dxdiag (system specs).

Hi TJ,

I’ve tried everything from the guide, but nothing worked for me. Here are the logs. Hope you can find a solution.

Somebody there? :frowning:

Add -http=wininet at the end of your launchers shortcut target, worked for me

Did not for me, tried many launcher versions, but thx.

I am having the same problem and nothing seems to work. I get the same response from the launcher-public-service link too.

Welcome to the club my poor friend… seems like the staff got no solution for us…

I got it to work, for me it seemed to require:

-OpenGL -debuglogging -http=wininet

Those were added to the target for the shortcut of the launcher. I am 99% certain that I tried those earlier with no luck… perhaps having all three combined made the difference? Or I just got lucky.

Wtf… you got lucky, congratulations then!
So I’m the only one again…

Hey Furor Divinus,

It looks like you’re having trouble connecting to our backend services.
Are you running through a proxy or vpn? Or possibly have a firewall on that could be blocking the requests?

Hello Mr. White,

It’s true, I have problems.
I don’t use any proxy or vpn or have a Firewall installed on Windows. My Router doesn’t seem to block anything yet and I can’t find anything wrong in the options.

Could you check if you have windows defender running, and if that has blocked connection?

Nope, uninstalled that ages ago.

Are you running through a Router?

Yes, I do.

Hi Divinus,

I know you tried -http=wininet but I wanted to verify you put a space between the end on the target line and -http=wininet like the pic I’ve added.

Also(and less likely to work), you could go back to [www.unrealengine.com][2] website and download the latest version of the installer. Just login and click the “Get Unreal” button. If you run the new installer, it should update your version of the Epic Games Launcher. It is a long shot, but there is a chance that the underlying problem could have been resolved in the latest version of the launcher.

And then click here to download the latest installer
