EpicGamesLauncher installation file CAB corruption

Hi,

I am unable to install Epic Games Launcher as every installation throws error:

Error 1335. The cabinet file ‘EpicGamesLauncher.cab’ required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

Downloaded installer multiple times with same result.
Full installer log attached. The file is 7z compressed archive with log file inside but due to file size restrictions I am unable to attach plain log. link text

OS: Windows 10 x64
Installer is launched from unprivileged account then asks for password and continues installation on admin privileges.

Hi Szczad,

Make sure to try all of the possible solutions in this section of the troubleshooting guide.

If nothing works, make sure to post your entire logs. The logs you posted above look corrupted. If you need to, zip them before upload.

Hi TJ,

This was the first thing I did. None of the solutions from that page work.

The logs are not corrupted. This forum’s policy disallows uploading files with “7z” extension but plain file is too big to attach it to this . Please download the file, change extension from “7z.log” to “7z” and unpack it with 7z which is free and open source archiving tool.

Howdy Szczad,
Can you attach a DXDiag for me?

Also, just to eliminate the possibility of a memory problem, could you run the Windows memory diagnostics tool.

I was unable to repro this issue on win10 but I am looking into it further. There is a new version of the installer that you could try but I suspect this issue is not installer related but has something to do with your unique setup. One thing that you could try is to install from a folder outside of your user directory.

While I check out the log in more detail you could do a a quick internet search for the error code you encountered. That error, Error 1335, is one of the well known Windows Installer error codes and there are a number of tips on how to one might get past the issue. Maybe one of those tips will be helpful in this case.
