Unable to reach Epic Servers at this time

Hello guys, since the last launcher update, I’m unable to log into the launcher.

I followed the troubleshoothing page without result.

You can find my Logs and DXDiag in attachment here.

In the meantimes, do you have a workaround for that?

Thanks and have a good day.

Hi gamer08,

Thank you for the report. We are currently investigating this issue and hope to have a solution soon.

In the meantime, some users have had luck with the workaround posted here. Give that a try and let up know how it goes.

Hello again,

No, it’s doesn’t work for me.

I’ll wait for another solution.

Thanks again

Hey Gamer08,

I’m seeing that you’re having troubles connecting to our backend services in your logs. Do you have a firewall enabled, using a VPN, or a Proxy?

Edited: Incorrect workaround, please ignore.

@ Steve.White I don’t use any proxy or VPN. thanks anyway

Hello T.J,

I feel stupid but I’m not able to reproduce this workaround because I cannot login in the launcher.

I still get Unable to reach Epic servers at this time / Connection to the server failed.

Can you explain a bit more how to do plz ?

Thanks

Hi gamer08,

My apologies, but this is actually the workaround for a different “Please Wait” issue we were having this morning related to downloading the UE4 editor. I was not clear when I gave the workaround to TJ about which “Please wait” issue it was related to. We are still working hard to figure what is causing this problem.

One thing that has helped some users with this issue is right-clicking the shortcut and selecting “Run as Administrator.” Give that a try and see if it helps. Thanks again for your patience.

Hello DWPPortal, tried and don’t work either. Thanks anyway.

At least, I’m on 4.8.3 so I not too far away and I can continu working on my game, but I would like to try 4.9 (I suppose it will be release soon)

Hey Gamer08,

Sorry for the delay, I’ve taken a look at your logs and you appear to only successfully connect when using -http=wininet I suggest using this as standard for now.

Could you re-attempt to log in with that setting. Since you posted your original issue we have released a hot fix for a known issue with matches both your description and what we see in the logs. Hopefully with the correct http setting you should patch to 2.4.3 and be able to log in successfully.

Please let us know how it goes.

Hello Barnabas, that’s worked !!

Hey Gamer08,

Thats awesome news, really glad to have helped.

I’ve gone ahead and marked the post which fixed it as the answer, in case anyone else has had a similar issue.

Enjoy 4.9

Yeah that’s worked.

NOTE.This is only reqired on my main desktop, on my workstation laptop is not required any idea why ?

The configs on windows is the same on both either the firewall, etc…

A bit weird.

anyway thanks agian.

Yes unfortunately this is a known phenomena, it is very often a per machine issue. A full investigation into these connection issues are ongoing.

I am glad we have got you up and running again in the mean time though.
