"Please Wait..." Message When Trying to Download UE4.8

I’ve successfully downloaded the Epic Games Launcher, and it runs fine, however I get this strange issue when I attempt to install any version of the Unreal Engine (but I’m trying mostly to get 4.8 to work).

I’ve tried troubleshooting in the following ways thus far:

  • I have attempted running the Epic Games Launcher as an Administrator
  • I have disabled firewalls and antiviruses (including port 5222 as seen on other tickets)
  • I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Epic Games Launcher

Additionally, I downloaded the source from GIT, but it turns out that VS2015 is not supported, and I can’t find a copy of the VS2013 Community Edition available from the Microsoft website, so that’s a bust too.

Another note: I used Wireshark to sniff the packets and it looks as though the download is failing due to timeouts?

Could you follow the steps in this section of the troubleshooting guide and generate your Debug Logs? Then post them here.
