Why cant i run UE4?

i cant open epic games launcher
the minute i open it i see the erroe"the application has stopped working
please help ASAP

Could you check and see if one of these dll exist on your PC for me?

Has this recently stopped working or have you never successfully ran the UE4 Launcher on the machine in question?

i never did run it on my system before
and i have tried everything including updation my gpu drivers and upgrading th pc to windows 10

We’ve noted a problem with Lavasoft and we’re currently working on a solution for our users until then, lets see if we can get you going with this work around.

  • Make sure you have HiddenFiles folder viewing turned on.
  • Navigate too : C:\Users"YourUserName"\AppData\Local
  • Delete the UnrealEngineLauncher folder
  • Relaunch the Epic Games Launcher
  • You should be on the Epic landing page in the launcher
  • Launch Run (WindowsKey + R)
  • enter: com.epicgames.launcher://ue/library

This should bring you to the Library page on the Unreal Page - you should be able to download the engine and get to work.

Make sure to use the steps 6-7 from now on (Don’t use the .exe or a shortcut to launch the Epic Games Launcher).

I still havent resolved the issue
i minute i open the the launcher the login page opens up
and if i go offline the window crasehes immediately
and i dont exactly get what do you mean by the landing page

Were you able to follow the steps from Steve White?

The Landing page is the tab on the far left of the launcher with the Epic Games logo on it, its the first page you see when you run the launcher for the first time and is therefore referred to as the landing page.

It is important for us to know whether you were able to complete the steps Steve mentioned as it is a workaround for a known bug.
