What are the rules and regulations to posting a game your developing on KickStarter

Hi there everyone, I’ve heard rumours before about posting your projects on KickStarter. Now, one of the rules I heard was something about you cannot post content on KickStarter that features the original standard blue character from the original templates like 3rd person template.

I have tried searching online for the full set of rules when submitting content to KickStarter but I cant seem to find anything.

The other main question I have is, I know Epic take a percentage of royalties from your game sales. (completely fair) do they take percentage from KickStarter backed funding? or is all that mine to use towards completion of the game?

Thanks in Advance.

This is my opinion, i may be wrong:
In general, don’t use art assets without approval, i think the licence extends to the engine only, (as well as free assets they release from the marketplace etc)
Receiving Kickstarter funding would be considered income off of the project, so I’d say royalties would need to be paid
But anyone else is more than welcome to correct me, as i’ve wondered the same.

So yeah… when in doubt check the EULA…
