Are there any guidelines for appropriate Triangle Counts for Meshes?

Hi Everyone,

I’m just wondering if there are some guidelines regarding appropriate triangle counts for meshes of characters, props, and weapons for use in an Unreal Engine 4 game? I referenced some recent AAA game titles and between 60-100K triangles appears to be the common range for the main character meshes. Does this sound accurate?

For now I would stay under 64k just so that later you could go mobile with the mesh. Also go low then add tessellation where you can for systems that can handle it. Balance is key

I would also stay under 64k, because even with a lower tri count you can create pretty awesome characters
