Imported Materials Become Blank

Hello, I’m using Unreal on a Mac and I’ve been having trouble importing a free material and texture pack. I navigated to the Content folder and placed the .uasset files in there, resulting in them showing up in the engine:

However if I try to apply or edit them, they turn into blank materials:

Open up the Parent Material and look for the errors. My guess, is that you have some references broken.

Please post a screenshot of the ParentMaterial if you are still having issues.

Thank you, it doesn’t seem have any parent material selected. How would I move the assets without breaking the references?

You would need to copy them in the same exact content directory structure as the owner had them in.

Which it looks like just copy everything directly to the root content folder without making a new one. Thats the only way without reconnecting eveything manually or asking for a better export.

Also make sure you are pulling the latest pack:

I have the same issue after updating from 4.14 to 4.16 and the folder structure has not changed. I had to install 4.14 until I upgraded my Mac, since UE4 relies on recent versions while other software recommends postponing upgrades I always have to be a version or two behind to not break every other software…
