Unknown exception - code 00000001 (first/second chance not available)

The last few days when I tried to work with the PlayerController class and some other classes, the editor crashed almost every time I compiled the new c++ code. Even when the code seems fine and the game runs after I restarted the engine. I even updated my project to 4.8 but it still happens. Not very easy to write code when you have to restart the editor 50 times every day.

I’m on Windows 7 64bit. Is there any possible solution?

Hints it controlled crash due assert fail, it should print you assert fail error in logs right before the crash, so check the logs maybe it will hint you something. Hot reload is not 100% perfect, sometimes engine needs to reload everything in order for everything to be stable

It doesn’t even write new logs in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue

It seems that it just crashes every second time I compile my code, doesn’t matter what kind of changes I made. Rebuilding the whole projects doesn’t make a difference.

UE4 logs in to Saved/Logs in your project directory :stuck_out_tongue:

I see it now too, but I still have no idea why it crashes after every 2nd time I compile. here’s part of the log:
