I’ve just imported the A.R.T tool into Maya 2014 and after loading the software, everything is fine, then when the plugin loads, all the windows and panels within Maya constantly flash, blip and close (pretty much every second), with a constant loading bar meaning you can’t do anything within Maya.
There’s no errors within the logs and everything loads perfectly, it’s just when the A.R.T activates, this happens. Also Maya crashes when trying to use the ‘Add Character’ feature.
This happened to me - really epileptic fit inducing stuff, isn’t it?
What I did by chance that solved it was delete the .py file from elswhere (as it suggests in the install notes). I had put it in the scripts folder of Maya2013 as well as Maya2014 scripts folder.
The flashing went away immediately.

I’m facing the exact same issue with installing the A.R.T tool into Maya 2014 (student version). I’ve made sure that the “userSetup.py” file is only present in the scripts folder for Maya 2014 version (as I have two versions of Maya on my computer) but unfortunately that didn’t help fix the issue. When I define the path to the Maya tools folder (after opening Maya), Maya software just goes into this state of constant loading and keeps flickering.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
