Hi, I have migrated my project to 4.9 and sound that the room I was working on didn’t receive any light. The windows static mesh don’t let any kind of light enter the room, but if I click on them the light works as it should while the static mesh keeps selected. I tried many ways to fix it but to no avail. The windows are made of a translucent material, nothing fancy there
Hi Andrew,
yes I opened as a copy and I just got to reproduce it partially,
You can create a new project in 4.9, then create a room using BSP, then create a light entrance with a substractive BSP and then I used the SM_Door (oft he starting content) to use as a window, this door has glass so the light should pass, but it blocks the light if unselected. If you select it again it works as it should.
Once the lightning is build the problem dissapears (until I move/rescale the SM_door). In my “migrated” project this didn’t solve the problem.
A couple of things you can try, I would check to make sure your glass material is applied to both faces of the door mesh. Also, is there any specific reason you are not using a plane as the mesh for your windows?
Make sure the mesh and material both have Two-Sided enabled. Be sure you are rebuilding on production quality, and also try converting your BSP’s to static meshes and rebuilding your scene.
Let me know if these suggestions helped, or if you have further questions.
