Packaged project crashing when opening either .exe

Two days ago, I packaged my game for the first time and tried to run it. It crashed. I cleaned up my project, removed level gamemode overrides, deleted levels that were not in use, deleted content that I wasn’t using, meddled with packaging options, among other stuff. The packaged game still crashes. Tried opening both .exe files, the one in the binaries folder and the one that has the name of the project. Thing is, my project is decently sized, it’s not that simple. And it’s a project that has been ported over from 4.8, I’ve been trying to package it with 4.9. Whenever I open the project, I do get a good deal of errors concerning collision, so it could be something having to do with project versions. I also modified the DefaultEngine.ini file, to make use of Steam.

Hey Shiny Rice,

Could you please upload the full output log from a failed packaging attempt? Please make sure it’s a .txt file.

Looking forward to hearing back, thanks!

The whole output log is too big to be uploaded here as an attachment, so here’s a link. [ https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/54384901/Packaging%20output%20log.txt

I’ve located and gotten rid of those warnings in that snippet except for files in the Engine folder, and the packaged project still crashes. I’ve also taken a look at parts of the log where packaging of certain files failed, I’ll try to get rid of them and see what happens.

Provide me the when you can. Thank you!

Tried some more stuff, still didn’t work. Here’s the log from the latest attempt. [https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/54384901/Packaging%20output%20log.txt][1]

Your last log says that the build was successful. Could you please provide me with the actual crash from the .exe? What type of error populates? Do you have any saved within your WindowsNoEditor folder?

Thanks!

I found the in the game directory, here’s the log of the first execution.

In the log that you provided, it simply says “Fatal Error!” and that’s all. Is there perhaps a crash reporter or a pop-up that appears with more information after the packaged exe crashes?

I did enable the option to pack the crash reporter, but the only message that I got when executing the game was a window that said “Fatal error!” and that’s it, no bug reporter. There are several reasons why I think this could be happening, I do have a options menu that I bought and could be outdated, or maybe it’s those load errors that I get when opening the project.

In any case, I’ve tried out many things, and none work. I’m currently replicating the entire game in another project, it’s the only thing I could think of that would work. It’s going to take quite a bit of time, though. Thanks for your time, patience, and attention.

so , what happened ? did it solve your problem ?
