Is it ok to use animations from Epic's Animation Starter Pack in a blueprint based toolkit?

Hi, I’m working on a blueprint based toolkit for the marketplace and was wondering if it’s ok to use one of the animations from the Animation Starter Pack in the toolkit. Specifically, the rifle shot animation.

Ofcourse, the animation itself doesn’t form any part of the main selling point for the toolkit. Based on the experience from my previous toolkit, I’ve found that customers generally prefer to have some sort of built in animations for the bots instead of having them just stand still while attacking the player. I ended up having to create a tutorial for the same, but the whole process could have been smoother if I could add in one of the animations. So I’d just like to know if it’s fine to use animations from ASP for the toolkit. Thanks.

Necro, no, using Epic sample content
in a Marketplace submission isn’t
allowed. Can you PM me where you found
this?

And to clarify the usage terms of
Epic’s content – you can’t use them
in Marketplace submissions, but you
can use them in your game, but only if
it’s in UE4.

Hope this helps

Don’t forget to accept an answer that best clears your question up or answers it so when the community finds your question in the future via search/google they know exactly what you did to fix it/get it going.

But I’ve seen some of the staff mention in one of the previous posts that it is fine to include the starter content, provided they’re modified or are actually being used in the pack. I want to know if Animation Starter Pack qualifies as being in the ‘Starter Content’ category.

I would guess a strong no from Jon. ONly the ENGINE starter content.
