How many characters can UE4 handle on screen at once?

Hi all, i have a few questions.

  1. If i need fight scene with 200 or more units can UE4 handle it without me having ultra super top computer, or there are some limitations?

2)I heard that Epic added alot of middleware (Audiokinetic – Wwise
Autodesk – Autodesk Gameware,
Donya Labs – Simplygon,
Geomerics– Enlighten,
IDV – SpeedTree for Games,
Intel – Intel Threading Building Blocks (TBB),
NaturalMotion – morpheme and euphoria,
NVIDIA – PhysX and APEX,
Oculus VR – Oculus Rift,
RAD Game Tools – Bink Video and Telemetry Performance Visualizer,
RealD – RealD Developer Kit (RDK),
Umbra Software – Umbra 3,
Xoreax – IncrediBuild-XGE) but coming to new price is that all gone? What from that is in engine now and what they will add, if not planning will it be some discount for UE4 users?
Thanks.

Any one knows?

Any one?

These are two separate questions and should be in separate threads.

  1. You need to test the performance your self for number of units etc. There are so many variables that all have to do with the assets etc. that no one will guarantee you performance for number of characters. There is nothing stopping you, as in there is no set limit but you need to do your own due diligence and find out if your design is going to technically perform well for you.

  2. I think you are talking about UE3 and not UE4 for the middle-ware. They removed the middle-ware dependencies and that is probably partly the reason they are able to provide source code and a low price. You are free to license the middle-ware you want yourself and integrate it. I’m sure that some middle-ware will write their own integration in time, but none have yet to my knowledge. There will be a marketplace for things like that.

Edit: Scaleform has an integration for UE4 allready: Autodesk Scaleform

Hi KilzVid,

I renamed your post to help get an answer from the developers. It would also help to include you PC specs.

If you could take your second question about the middle-ware and make it into it’s own post that would also help in getting you a timely answer to both questions.

Thanks,
TJ

Thank you guys.

The Scaleform Integration release is only for Scaleform 4.3 and the UE4 January 2014 QA build !

Hi there> i can’t seems to find the January UE4 build in Github? can someone verify it’s there?
