Manual cutting of mesh used in simulating mesh destruction

I pre-cut/slice a tower mesh before exporting it to UE4, assuming the manual cuts I made for that tower will be the ones recognized by the engine.

main question:
Is it possible, that when I simulate to destroy that tower in the engine, the cuts that the engine will recognize are the ones I cut beforehand. Instead of using Unreal’s built in mesh destroyer or cutter.
