Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

maya vector field export not working

When I try to export a vector field from Maya 2012 x64 I keep getting this error: // Warning: line 124: fopen: unable to open file "C:\\vel.165.fga" for mode "w".

I had no issues with this on my last computer, using the same version of Maya and the same OS (windows 7). I have looked at many tutorials and followed them all to a "T" Including this one: https://wiki.unrealengine.com/Creating_Vector_Fields_(Tutorial)

I've tried changing the export path name to my other drive and I've even tried the shelf files from several versions of UE4. 4.0, 4.6, 4.7, 4.9. Nothing works.

Product Version: UE 4.7

1 answer: sort voted first

Setting the export to my external drive fixed the problem. Internal drives must not work for some reason.
