GearVR problems

Hi all,

having just returned to Unreal Ed after many years in order to build projects for the GearVR, I’m struggling with my first project, which is just getting a FirstPersonExampleMap with no modifications to run on the GearVr as a Blueprint project (I don’t have Visual Studio installed).

I’m able to get it to compile and get the app to install my Galaxy Note 4, but when I launch it just freezes (or doesn’t track head movements, I’m not sure which - all I see is a distorted b/w Unreal logo and the sample scene, with a Download button in the lower left corner of my eye, all frozen in place).

I’ve read through all the documentation that I’ve been able to find (what little there is), and have tried to follow it as closely as I can, but still no go.

I’ve also read through the info from SteveKouts in this thread:

but am having trouble following the info in it, because I 1) don’t see the options mentioned in my project settings, and 2) am unable to follow the instructions for setting the HMD (Head Mounted Display) because I can’t figure out how to set the Player camera Manager class.

I would be eternally grateful for any help in this!
