Skeletal mesh in a particle

Is there a way to use skeletal meshes inside of cascade? I know this as been asked before, but I haven’t found anything from this year and wanted to know if there have been updates. Otherwise, I’ve seen this (Vertex Animation Tool | Unreal Engine Documentation) method using materiel deformations that I’ll give a try, I was just looking for a simpler method not involving max.
