Framerate drop when tooltips show

Recently, I have started having low frame rates whenever the tooltips display in the editor. This behavior also occurs any time that I mouse over anything that produces a tooltip, and seems to be occurring to a lesser extent when the launcher produces tooltips. I have seen it occur with the “My Projects” section. Initially, I thought this was whenever the mouse was not in the viewport, which was incorrect. After reinstalling the editor, I found that it was actually only with things that produced the tooltips, and have edited this to reflect that.

I don’t see a reason it would be related myself, nor am I suggesting that it is the cause, but this started occurring after attempting to load the Infiltrator demo, if that is relevant. I have not experienced this issue prior, nor have I noticed any issues in general with my system, nor with other applications, since this behavior began. It occurs in both 4.8 and 4.9, with the regular frame rate as displayed by the editor ~120 fps. Upon a tooltip being produced, the frame rate drops to ~9-10 fps. It does not seem to matter whether I load old projects or create new ones.

Never mind, I guess. Upon digging around, I managed to get it to stop occurring, by turning off EVGA PrecisionX. The frame rate drops stopped immediately, both in the editor, and in the launcher. In case it is ever of interest to anyone, I ran into this issue upon upgrading PrecisionX to version 5.3.8.

Thanks for the follow up post, worked for me as well.
