shadow on mesh become black after scaling up 100 fold

I have skylight, set object to movable and I already built light. But somehow If I scale object up too much (100 fold) it will become dark on the shadded side ( shadow side). Anyone know how to fix this I really don’t want to scale the model up in maya.

Hi Musetatron,

Is this any mesh that causes this issue, or specifically ones that are brought in from Maya? Also, Is this using dynamic lighting or only happening after you build lighting with Static Lighting?

If you could post a screenshot of what’s going on that may be helpful as well. Using the basic cube mesh in the engine and scaling that 100 times larger does not indicate anything like you’ve described that I can see.

Let me know.

Tim

Sorry but I can’t reproduced what happened anymore. I use BP_LightStudio from Starter content. I use mesh from maya with some stacked UV. But that same mesh doesn’t cause the problem anymore today(restart my pc 1 time) . So may be it’s gpu problem? I use GTX 750 TI with latest driver installed…

It’s possible, or it could be just a glitch that happened in UE4. This has been known to happen with software and rebooting or reimporting can sometimes fix it.

If the issue should comeback let me know and we can dig into it.

Thanks!

Tim
