Why is epic game launcher taking up so much space

I mean it doesn’t have that much function aside from installing software so what’s all the data used for is there a way to install unreal engine without so it cause I don’t have the hardrive for it

I havent tried it but I think if you get the source code from github it is standalone but you not be able to access the example maps or any content from the marketplace. I think. =)

can’t figure out how that works but the real question is why does the Epic Games Launcher have so much data

Hi Torinsan,

If you’d like to use the engine without going through the launcher, you can obtain it from Github. For assistance in this process you can reference the wiki and video here.

Please note that the launcher is there to be an ecosystem for all of your development needs: easy access to the marketplace, your purchased content, and your projects as well as upcoming news for releases from Epic.
