Hello everyone,

When I try to update the engine (UE 4.9) I get this error :

I also get the same error when I try to add a new engine version.
At the beginning I thought it was just a temporary problem, but after 1 week I’m still getting this error.

Can someone explain to me how to fix it?

Thanks for your time!

Hi ,

I apologize for the delayed response. Could you please try the troubleshooting steps in this section of the troubleshooting guide.

If nothing works, follow the steps here to generate you Debug Logs. Post them here, along with your Dxdiag (system specs).

Hello Leebowitz and thank you for your reply.

I restarted my PC and it works now, thank you very much for your help.

Have a great day.

Installing Visual Studio C++ 2005 SP1 x64 solved this for me.

link text Here it is now what?

Well I have managed to install Unreal Engine 4.10.2 on windows 10 64bits but firstly I was getting error 0 too and here is what I did to fix the error,

1.Closing any application using port 80, 443 so I disable it on skype for my side
2.Make sure you have installed all Microsoft visual C++ if you don’t have download the full package from here:

3.Change the HTTP time out settings to be like this on unreal engine 4.10.2 see attachments

4.Restart your PC

5.Make sure no other program is running and open the EPIC Game Launcher

6.Click on learn wait untill it opens and just click on level designer quick start and wait until the browser opens to make sure internet is working fine and then close, this is very important

7.Go back to launcher and click on resume and wait you will see the verification starting and follow the on screen instructions.

None of these worked for me. I have tried deleting the engine, deleting unreal completly from my pc(includes epic launcher and it’s content) and all of the suggestions above, none of them seem to work.

This, my friend, solved the problem. Thanks!

Hi what is working so far after code 0, I right clicked the epic launcher icon and brought up properties, then made my administrator account able to read/right etc after that it started downloading. If it doesnt complete will let you know but using the properties permissions works so far.

Iv’e tried what you suggested , and it doesn’t seem to work. :c I… I don’t know what to do now, it looks like i have to restart my pc for this? If anyone has any other suggestions I would be happy to try it out. Thank you Kerrieanndaly for helping, got any other ideas?

Odyssious which os are you using? and is it original OS or just downloaded from torrent site? give the all supported info please.

I am using Windows 8.1 Pro, yes It’s the original. It is a Intel(R) Core™ i5-4210u CPU @ 1.70GHz 2.40GHz
6.00GB RAM 64-Bit processor. I don’t understand why it does this. Last time I could use this was in Patch 4.9 once it updated to 4.10+ it no longer function properly It gives me the same error after many attempts, I’ve tried OpenGL, Admin, uninstall and reinstall. I don’t know what to do next.

sorry for asking this, did you try my solutions above?

Yes, I did. alll of them.

Fixed it for me man
Many thanks

I had the same issue… my work around was going into the task manager and killing and restarting the explorer process.

90% of the issues with windows can be fixed by killing that stupid thing.
we are up to windows 10 and that process still takes a crap when you lease expect it…

Thanks a lot, it worked for me

Thank you. I was having the same problem, and killing explorer.exe process fixed it immediately. Instead of the error, resume promptly got back to work.

Yes, I did it too and it got back to work too… It’s magic  ! Thank you !
