Why does my UE4 content look blurry?

I am new to Unreal 4 and apologize if this has already been asked, however I searched for something of the like and could not find what I was looking for.

I downloaded UE4 and opened up some of the starter content to get a feel for the program, however any starter maps I open have a blurry look to them. I have seen videos of people using the engine and everything looks very clear for them, but I can’t explain what I see any better than it looks like models on screen are blurred and not as clear.

Here is a picture if it helps me explain:

Is it just me or does it look not right to anyone else? Have i set-up/ done something wrong? (It looks much worse when its blown up on my screen)

Thanks.

That picture looks about right. What you probably see in other projects is the detail settings are higher. By default all the starter content is on preview level so it doesn’t bog down your processor while trying to build the level. When you are far enough along in building your level you can change the detail to a higher setting. Hope that helps

I looked at all of my settings are set to epic level, but it still doesn’t look as clean as some others editors look… for example:

I have my preview level set on direct x 11, all of my quality settings are at epic or the highest possible.

You can change the AA to get some sharpness PostProcess → Misc → AA Method: FXAA

This helped me, thanks!
