Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Changing hot key bug

When you change hotkeys in the editor preferences, your new input isn't saved/accepted till you click on another hotkey field. I discovered this confusion when I filtered the keys by search to find Maximize Viewport, and naturally I only had one hotkey to select from (so my discovered fix wasn't possible). I knew that I had made this work the night before (but didn't save due to a crash). I kept clicking outside the input field box in the gray void to try and get UE4 to accept it. It wasn't till I manually looked through the menus, change the input for Maximize Viewport that I accidentally clicked on another blank field, then and only then did a I get the "red x" near my new input, confirming UE4 acceptance of it.
