Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

[Closed] Networking error/crash

I have a project which runs perfectly fine hosting server and client searches it on serverlist and joins. I updated my engine default file to run steam in standalone that still worked fine then I followed a tutorial to set up player respawning, error catches and enum states when that finished the game runs completly fine in standalone. When I run it in separate window server hosts a game on lan and goes to team select screen... The clients main menu disappears and I get network failure error on my error dialog.. Looking at the output it says the host closed the connection... No idea why it is doing this but I haven't yet tried to see if it does it over steam in standalone.. Any ideas?

I basically added multiplayer shootout blueprints such as enum states and error catches to make it more reliable.. I get state transition error and a network failure error. The client shouldn't even be doing anything when the server clicks host game. Before 4.9 and before the updated nodes the project worked fine

Hi Scottc91,

This does not appear to be a bug. If the vanilla Multiplayer Shootout connects as expected, then it's likely the updated nodes that is causing the problem for you. I will attempt to assist on your original post, no need to enter others. Closing this post as a duplicate:
