Can't get Oculus Rift DK2 to work with UE 4.9.2

Hi, I’m trying to get my Oculus Rift working with unreal engine.

I followed this tutorial which told me that the only version of the Oculus runtime that works with unreal is version 0.4.2, so I installed it. The editor won’t let me launch projects in VR mode when my oculus is connected, the option is greyed out unless I have the Simple HMD plugin enabled, which then only launches the game to my monitor in stereo. My oculus receives no video feed.

I kept digging and found this page which contradicted the first saying I need the “lastest” version of the Oculus runtime, so I installed 0.7.0 and tried again. The editor either crashed when I tried to launch my projects in VR mode, or displayed a black window on my main monitor and sent no video to the Oculus.

I’d love some help with this, I’m working at a company who wants to develop using the Oculus and Unreal Engine.

I got 0.7.0 to work by updating my graphics drivers, but the inconsistency in the documentation probably needs an update.
