How do I make an animated destructible mesh in UE4?

I have been working with the apex destructibles in unreal (really cool tech btw), but I have now ran into a roadblock. Im in need of an animated mesh that still has its destructable properties but I cant yet find a way to make that work.

I was at first worried that only completely static meshes could utilize apex destruction but that is clearly not the case. I dont see any technical obstacles but also no clear direction so any ideas would be appreciated
